This year (2014), part of my resolution was to learn something new. I chose knitting and crochet, because I’ve always wanted to learn. But there are other areas of fiber arts that have always interested me, and I plan to master all of them!
Embroidering was something my mother taught me when I was little, so I wanted to kick it up a notch, and learn how to knit (through YouTube!). I’ll post up my projects as they come. In the mean time, if you’re interested in knitting and/or crochet, check out my Ravelry account!
I just started dyeing my own yarns in August 2014….
I. Am. In. L O V E!
Not only can I choose my own colors and combinations, but I can customize my yarn to suit my projects! When my hands and wrists get sore, this is a great way to still work with fiber and get my creative juices flowing… I’ve found a new level of bliss!
Oh, how beautiful it is to create something so wonderful, and much quicker than knitting! I can’t wait to get a loom and start weaving away!!
Hold on there, honey! Gotta perfect the knitting, crocheting, and weaving first! I love that I always want to learn something new! It keeps me on my toes! And spinning is DEFINITELY on the list!
Hmmm …. Did I leave anything else out??
Besides dealing with yarns and rovings, I also adore the art of embroidery and sewing… Those probably deserve a blog of their own, but I may put in a few tidbits here and there on my work in those areas!
